The project “No Light” shows hidden emotions of the photographed people by means of very graphic, raster, black and white images. The project aimed at revealing what is “personal”, intimate, what the project protagonists are ashamed of and do not want to expose. People say that photography is light, while my aim was to avoid it and so I took the photographs in complete darkness. To extract an image from the black frame I forced the film, obtaining very graphic, granular images. Darkness emboldened the participants. If it had not been for the procedure, the protagonists would not have decided to stand in front of the camera and lay bare their weaknesses and complexes.
